OOC =/= IC
By no means what actions my character says or does will reflect my character; OOC (Out of Character). Thoughts feelings all that sort will always usually be IC (In Character) before anything unless otherwise discussed but most likely will be in 100%.
+18: Mature Content
Be forewarned there will be mature content displayed on this account. while it won't be grotesque, there will be gore, violence, nudity to some capacity, and a good number of dark themes. (i.e. necromancy, macabre elements). If that is not your thing or within that age element.
Please leave this an account/ carrd post-haste.

Shipping
At the moment I'm no longer interested in shipping with other OC in any capacity save platonically. Istrault at the moment is currently married in the main verse and is not looking for any companionship. Do not plus or prod for this. If so i will unfollow and proceed to block you.
But should interesting for a platonic ship please understand these things will need to be discussed and how they fall parallel with the story.
Racism/ Transphobia/ Homophobia
Giving a heads up I'm not wont to tolerate anything of the sort. If you have any racism, derogatory comments , slurs, or homophobic remarks that need to be said. Do so - far away from me. If done will promptly unfollow and block you from future interactions.

Lore
I try to keep my work quite lore-compliant to what is given. I will bend the lore to my liking but i will not break it. If your work is something i feel will not mesh with my current work please understand my decision is possibly based on this.
Roleplay
My current style of RP ranges from the following; Novella, Multi-para, Paragraph. I don't do one-line roleplays.
I commonly do, and prefer, my RP's on discord but may do them in FFXIV depending my schedule.

A restrained apex predator shaped by loss and duty, whose feral instincts are tempered by deliberate compassion, dry humor, and an unbreakable protective drive personality. While his personality changes a significant degree through his story much of his core personality does not change. In his younger years of becoming an adventurer, he was cocky, confident, stubborn, inquisitive, sarcastic, determined, independent, quick wit and a dry sense of humour and could be strict (especially with old tomes and books). Possibly something he attained from his later grandsires and rebellious episodes within youth. Though he may come across as cocky and confident in his abilities, he still displays a caring and compassionate side and perhaps moments of insecurity about his own being.Within his mid-twenties between " A Realm Reborn" and "Heavesnword". Istrault unsurprisingly has become extremely bitter, sullen and depressed and focuses on vengeance after the events of _" Blood Moon Sacrifice". The only thing keeping him going is his furious vow to one day kill Wiltair, who he found out betrayed the band of Knives, despite knowing that his path of vengeance won't end well for him. Further, after being betrayed, Istrault became somewhat distrusting unsurprisingly, as he was wary of the Scions and former companions now considered outcasts initially but he soon warms up to them slowly. However he places his objectives depending if benefits his own concerns within that moment. He has shown callousness towards the title of "Warrior of Light". Something he finds foolish, considering the attitude those who call upon them often display and the dependency most form on their heroes. Perhaps most pivotal are said heroes only solemnly answer under the guidance of "Mother Crystal" and the gift that she bestows her chosen.this notion instead seems to entail responsibility that is charged without consent. Hence Istrault is quite reluctant and shirks these duties as Warrior of Light, being somewhat bitter under a pledge of answering the call of the star.

SPECIAL ABILITIES: He has a wide variety so im breaking it up here by categories for explanation. COEURL ACCENT
Instinct. Sensory Dominance. Predator Architecture. These abilities are biological and reflexive.— SENSORY MATRIX
-Reads biochemical scent shifts (fear, adrenaline, desire)- Detects heart rate and breathing irregularities
- Electro-location via bioelectric impulses
- Micro-vibration and air displacement detection
- Ambush is difficult. Concealment is temporary.— DUAL-LAYERED REFLEX SYSTEM
- Pre-conscious threat detection
- Body moves before cognition
- Near-immediate counter-response
- He does not react quickly. He reacts first.— BIOELECTRIC FIELD
Coeurls are bioelectric apex predators.
His field originates biologically — not magically.Base Function (Coeurl)
- Passive low-level electrical current
- Electro-location support
- Heightened nerve conductivity (haste)
- Muscular reaction optimization
- Storm charge intensifies during emotional peaks
- Can be discharged through physical contact
- Amplifies during thunderstorms— INSTINCT THERSHOLD
THIS IS NOT AETHERIC MIMICRY, THIS IS THE REAL DEAL. His aether is permanently changed with the primal instinctive aether of a coeurl.-Under extreme saturation:
-Predatory override risk increases
-Emotional processing narrows
-Lethality rises DRAGON LINEAGE
Endurance. Storm. Altitude.
- Draconic Aether Infusion
- Enhanced durability & regenerative capacity
- Warm body temperature, faint ozone scent
- Plants respond favorably to his presence— DRACONIC VITALITY
- Enhanced durability
- Accelerated regeneration (not instant)
- Elevated body temperature
- Dense aetheric signature
- He is not immortal.— AETHERIC DENSITY
-His aether is thicker than baseline mortals.
So things take effect like:
- Harder to destabilise
- Resistant to aether siphoning
- Slower to exhaustDifficult to overwhelm with raw magic
-This doesn’t mean immune.
- It means he doesn’t disperse easily.
- But he is difficult to extinguish.— PREDATORAY PRESSURE (WYRM IMPRINT)
Forces instinct-level hierarchy response in beastsUse: Breaks charges, disrupts trained animals
Limit: Focused, not constant; fails vs constructs/true dragons— DRACONAIC SENSE
Macro aether awareness
Detects large-scale disturbances, ancient presencesUse: Horizon-level threat awareness
Limit: Blurred in corrupted/artificial fields— MEMORY RESONANCE
Feels emotional/aetheric echoes in locationsUse: Reads battlefields, ancient sites
Limit: Emotional, not informational ANCIENT CORE
Holistic. Instinctive Insight. Independent— HUNTER INSIGHT/INTUITION
- Instinctively detects weak points
Reads emotional intent in combat
Tracks through scent, vibration, and aether residue— TRUE SIGHT
We need to define what you mean by True Sight first — but based on everything we’ve built:If True Sight =
• Seeing aetheric imbalance
• Detecting soul fractures
• Reading emotional intent
• Perceiving weak structural points— HOLISTIC AETHER INTUITION
Detects imbalance in environment or individualsUse: Tracks “what’s wrong”
Limit: Requires proximity/focus— AETHERIC INTENT PRECEPTION
Reads emotional truth behind attacksUse: Anticipates lethal intent
Limit: Fails vs numb/empty attackers— AETHERIC EMPATHIC
Istrault possesses a deep, intuitive understanding of animals and the natural world, a direct result of Artemis's expertise in designing and stewarding the world's fauna and untamed spaces. He can feel the emotions and intent of animals as clearly as spoken language, and his awareness extends to the aetheric pulse of the land itself.
CORE TRAITS: — ORIGIN PILLARS The three forces that define his nature.— COEURL CORE
Instinct • Sensory • Immediate Survival- His sense of hearing, smell, and taste are layered with aspects of a coeurl.
- He reads biochemical scent shifts (fear, stress, desire) by scent or taste.
- Detects heart rate & breath irregularities
- Electro-location via bioelectric impulses
- Feels air pressure displacement & vibration
- Hair follicles & ears function like whiskers to a Coeurl— Living Instinct His body acts before thought.
Movement, reaction, and positioning are reflexive,
not calculated.— Sensory Dominance He experiences the world through layered input:-scent
-vibration
-bioelectric signals
-pressure shiftsNothing around him is truly “quiet.”— Predator Presence He is read as an apex organism.
Not through intimidation—
through certainty.— Embodied Awareness He does not separate mind and body.
Perception, reaction, and action are one continuous flow.— DRAGON AETHER
Endurance • Weight • Continuity
- Draconic Aether Infusion
- Enhanced durability & regenerative capacity
- Warm body temperature, faint ozone scent
- Plants respond favourably to his presence— Aetheric Density
His presence carries weight thanks to this physiology.
-Harder to disrupt.
-Harder to move.
-Harder to extinguish.— Endurance Over Time
He does not burn out quickly compared to most mortal races;
He sustains.— Temporal Patience
Time does not pressure him.
He can wait.
Watch.
Act when it matters.— Altitude Perspective
He does not view events as immediate endpoints.
Everything is part of a longer current.
Including death.
Tracks through scent, vibration, and aether residue— ANCIENT CORE
Insight • Alignment • Pattern Recognition— Holistic Perception He senses an imbalance in:
-people
-environments
-situationsHe feels when something is “off.”— Pattern Awareness
He recognises structure beneath chaos.
Combat. Emotion. Strategy.
He sees how things connect.— Aetheric Intent Sensitivity
He perceives the why behind action.
Not just movement, but the
intent behind it.— Internal Balance
Instinct and reason do not conflict.
They coexist.
This is rare.
SYSTEM: AETHERIC FIELD MANIPULATION
Storm • Pressure • Vector Control
He does not cast spells.
He manipulates fields, pressure, and movement through his body as the conductor. CORE EXPRESSIONS Aetheric Electromagnetic Control (AEM Field)
Generates and manipulates localized electromagnetic forces
Enhances movement (acceleration, redirection)
Disrupts conductive materials
Enables polarity-based interactionsUse: speed, disruption, control
Feel: lightning without casting Atmospheric Pressure Manipulation
Compresses or releases air pressure instantly
Creates shockwaves, force pulses, and concussive burstsUse: stagger, area control
Feel: impact without visible strike Vacuum Generation
Rapid pressure drop zones
Brief suction effects / air displacement
Can destabilise footing or breathing rhythmUse: repositioning, interruption
Feel: space collapsing inward Vector Manipulation
Alters direction and force of motion
Redirects momentum mid-action
Enhances jumps, strikes, and evasionsUse: mobility + unpredictability
Feel: impossible movement angles Gravity Influence (Localized / Indirect)
Not true gravity control—pressure + vector stacking
Creates pseudo-weight shifts
Can pin, drag, or accelerate targetsUse: control space and bodies
Feel: sudden heaviness or forced drop Thermal Induction (Secondary)
Friction + Aetheric EM + pressure = heat generation
Can superheat surfaces or armorUse: damage over time, disruption
Feel: environment turning hostileHe is not a wizard. He is a walking conductor of force.
CORE ABILITY —WILD INTERACTION
Handling • Reading • CoexistingHe understands how to exist around them without breaking the system.
A practised skill refined through instinct, presence, and alignment.
He does not command animals.
He moves in a way that does not trigger them.Predators hesitate.
Prey avoids without panic.
The wild adjusts around him. COEURL EXPRESSION Micro-Instinct Communication— PREDATOR LANGUAGE FLUENCY
Mirrors subtle body cues unconsciously
Adjusts movement to avoid triggering prey response
Emits stable, non-chaotic intent signalsAnimals don’t “like” him. They understand him.Biofield Signaling
His bioelectric field reads as alive, steady, controlled
Not erratic → not prey
Not frantic → not threat escalationThis stabilizes nearby animals. DRACONIC EXPRESSION Macro Presence & Hierarchy— Apex Recognition
Lesser predators hesitate before engaging
Territorial animals reassess rather than attack
Mounts and large beasts become alert but controlledHe registers as something higher in the chain. Not ruler—but not contestable without risk.Stillness Authority
When he stops moving, the environment adjusts
Animals track him instead of reacting impulsivelyThis is pressure without action. ANCIENT EXPRESSION Harmony & Non-Disruption✧ Environmental Alignment
Does not disrupt natural aether flow
Animals feel less “pushed” by his presence
In balanced environments, creatures may ignore him entirelyHe fits into the system instead of bending it.✧ Intent Clarity
Animals read him as consistent
No hidden agitation, no false signals
What he is = what they perceiveThis builds trust faster than behavior alone.🌩 WHEN ALL THREE ALIGNThis is rare — but powerful.✧ Wild Equilibrium State
Animals neither flee nor challenge
Predators acknowledge, then disengage
Prey reroutes instead of panicking
The environment remains stable around him
Born in 1555 — Istrault du Sirois is born on the Southern Continent of Meracydia That same year, the following happened: — Near the end of the Sixth Astral Era, following the Garlean Empire's making contact with Dalamud, the satellite began to slowly descend towards the realm of Eorzea. For millennia, the people of Eorzea believed it to be a lesser moon, even worshipping it at times through history, unaware of the truth history of the moon.Istrault’s earliest years are shaped not by war, but by memory.Born in Meracydia and later raised in the Twelveswood by his Sharlayan grandsires, he is taught to understand the world before he is forced to survive it. His grandmother teaches him to read the past through aether—pulling fragmented histories from the land itself—while his grandfather teaches him how power moves through matter, shaping tools that make the unseen measurable. Together, they give him knowledge without expectation, never forcing him toward Old Sharlayan, only offering the path. That path is erased when Bahamut is freed during the Seventh Umbral Calamity, and the Twelveswood is torn apart in fire and aether. His grandsires die in the devastation. What remains is a boy who understands the world deeply—and suddenly has no place in it.“I was taught how the world works. Then I watched it break.” 🌊 PRE-ARR — THE PIRATE YEARS Istrault grew up at sea.Taken in by Wilitair and his crew, 'The Black Jaws". Istrault is raised among pirates, mercenaries, and survivors who teach him how to live without illusions. Here, knowledge becomes instinct—lessons of aether and structure translated into movement, reaction, and violence when necessary. The sea become hs mentorHe does not grow alone.A Xaela brother who works metal, cooks, and mines with equal skill teaches him discipline and craft—a man building toward a future beyond piracy. A Veena Viera bard teaches him music, rhythm, and the way emotion can move through sound. A Raen brother, sharp-tempered but loyal, teaches him how to endure pressure and meet it head-on. Together, they form something close to family—rough, imperfect, but real. They travel far—Tural, Hingashi, Thavnair—seeing the breadth of the star before most ever leave their homeland. The sea hardens him. Not cruelly—but honestly.Wilitair teaches one thing above all:Survival is not fair. It is not clean. It is not kind. And then it proves it.The dream of something better—a tavern, a future, stability—fractures. The Xaela brother is imprisoned. The Viera is taken and tempered by Sahagin. The Raen disappears in a failed rescue. Wilitair chooses survival over loyalty. And Istrault learns the cost of that choice.Betrayed and left for dead on a remote island by someone he once trusted, he survives alone—dragging himself back from something that should have ended him. When he leaves Limsa Lominsa, he does not look back.Tagline:“The sea didn’t break me. People did.”

By the time Istrault reappears in Eorzea, he is no longer a boy shaped by others—he is something self-directed, precise, and dangerous. He works as a sellsword first, fulfilling unfinished promises, most notably returning to the shores of La Noscea to hunt the Sahagin and put down what remains of his past—including granting his fallen Viera brother a proper burial. Closure does not soften him. It sharpens him.His reunion with Wilitair comes later, under a different banner—the Band of Knives, a group built on the idea of unity and opportunity, masking something far darker beneath. What begins as success turns into manipulation, as the group is quietly fed into the hands of the Lambs of Dalamud as sacrifices. It is here he dies—and returns. In that space between death and survival, he encounters Umbra: a sapient wolf familiar born of ancient creation magic, drawn to him by something deeper than coincidence. Through this connection, his instincts sharpen beyond normal limits—his perception of intent, emotion, and life itself becoming unnervingly clear. When he returns, he is no longer just a sellsword. He is a hunter. His path eventually crosses with the Scions of the Seventh Dawn, though not cleanly. He does not join them out of belief, but alignment of purpose. Primals, Ascians, and cultists are not ideological threats to him—they are targets.During this time, he encounters and takes in a coeurl kitten—Samhita—after witnessing her mother’s death. What begins as coincidence becomes something far more significant, as she recognizes in him the same precision and lethality others fear.To enemies, he earns a name:Dreadwolf. Not a title.A warning.“You call it brutality. I call it finishing what you started."
Ishgard is a city built on faith, buried under truth. When Istrault enters the Dragonsong War, he walks into something older than politics—hatred that has outlived reason, sustained by belief rather than reality. To Ishgard, dragons are monsters. To dragons, Ishgard is betrayal. To Istrault—they are both wrong. And that makes him dangerous.Because he remembers what dragons took. The Bahamut is not an abstract calamity to him—it is the reason his life fractured. The reason knowledge became survival. The reason he stopped expecting the world to be fair.So when he stands in a war defined by dragons—it is not neutral. It is controlled. He does not lash out.
He does not hesitate. He chooses. This is where others begin to misunderstand him most.Ishgard sees restraint and assumes distance.
The Scions see control and assume detachment. But what they are actually seeing—is selection. He does not act on emotion.
He acts after it is accounted for.His connection to dragonkind complicates everything further. Where others see enemies, he reads intent. Where others see chaos, he sees pattern. He is one of the few who can stand between both sides and not be consumed by either—because he refuses to inherit their hatred. That refusal unsettles people.Especially those who need the war to remain simple.House Sireau attempts to place him—use him, define him, anchor him within Ishgard’s structure. He allows it.Just enough to understand it.Never enough to belong to it.By the time the truth of the war surfaces—that it was built on a lie—Istrault is already past the point of needing that revelation. He was never fighting for Ishgard. He was deciding what deserved to survive the end of it.And when the war finally breaks—he is not surprised.Only ready.Tagline:“I remember what dragons took.
That doesn’t mean I become what hunts them.”

In Ala Mhigo, the war is not abstract—it is occupation, identity, and survival pressed into the same space. The Resistance fights to reclaim a homeland taken by the Garlean Empire, but liberation is not clean. It demands coordination, patience, and leadership that can hold people together long enough to matter. It demands belief.Istrault does not bring belief. He brings results.Where the Resistance organizes, he disrupts. Supply lines collapse. Patrols vanish. Strongholds fall faster than they should. He does not fight like a soldier of a nation—he fights like someone removing obstacles until nothing is left standing in the way.To some, that makes him invaluable. To others, it makes him dangerous.Because war is not just about winning—it is about what remains after. This is where he clashes with Lyse Hext.Lyse carries the weight of Ala Mhigo—not just its freedom, but its future. She cannot afford to think in terms of endings alone. Every action must consider what comes after, who leads, who rebuilds, who holds the line when the fighting stops.Istrault doesn’t.Not at first. To him, hesitation costs lives.
To her, recklessness costs everything else.So they push. She challenges his methods—his willingness to cut problems out without regard for what follows.
He challenges her hesitation—her instinct to carry more than one person should.Their conflict is not personal. It is ideological. And it doesn’t resolve through compromise. It resolves through understanding pressure.Lyse learns that Istrault is not careless—he simply refuses to delay action when the outcome is clear.
Istrault learns that she is not hesitant—she is carrying consequences he does not account for.He doesn’t become a soldier. He doesn’t become a leader. But he adjusts. Not by slowing down—but by choosing where to apply force. He begins to move with the Resistance instead of ahead of it, aligning his strikes with their strategy rather than overriding it. Not because he is told to.Because he decides it’s more effective. And Lyse? She stops trying to rein him in—and starts using him.Not as a weapon. As a force multiplier.By the time Ala Mhigo is liberated, the difference is clear:The Resistance won the war.But Istrault ensured it didn’t drag long enough to break them.He doesn’t stand at the front when it’s over.He doesn’t claim anything. But the shape of the victory—the speed of it, the pressure of it, the way it never had time to collapse inward—that carries his mark. And for the first time, the distance between him and others closes—not because he changed what he is—but because he chose to stand with, instead of simply moving through.Tagline:“You fight for a country.
I make sure there’s still something left to claim.”
The First is a world that has already lost its balance. Not to destruction—but to excess.Too much Light. Too much certainty. Too much of something that was once good, now pushed beyond its purpose until it becomes something suffocating. It is a world that cannot let go.And for the first time—Istrault is alone.Without Samhita, there is no external instinct to lean on, no second presence to reflect or challenge him. What remains is not emptiness, but quiet—and in that quiet, something unfamiliar:Time to think without interruption. At first, he moves the same. Acts the same. Ends things the same. But the longer he remains, the more something shifts. Not in what he does—in how he understands it.He begins to recognize that instinct was never something given to him.It was something he had already learned.Samhita didn’t create it.She sharpened it.And now, without her, he is forced to decide:What remains when there is no one else to confirm the path? The answer is simple. He keeps walking. Not because he is certain.Because he doesn’t need to be.In a world consumed by imbalance, Istrault becomes something different—not a force pushing against it, but something that moves through it without being changed by it.And when Samhita returns—there is no correction needed. No adjustment.Only recognition. They are no longer moving as instinct and reflection. They are moving as equals who arrived at the same place from different directions.

The Final Days are not fought on battlefields. They unfold inside people.Fear spreads faster than any army. Despair takes root without warning. Entire cities fall not because they are attacked—but because they lose the will to stand at all.It is not a war you can win through strength. It is a collapse you endure—or don’t.And this is where Istrault changes the least.Which is exactly why he matters. While others struggle to hold onto meaning, Istrault doesn’t reach for something new.He holds onto what already exists. Not ideals. Not belief.People.One at a time. Situation by situation. He doesn’t try to fix the world—he focuses on what’s directly in front of him, grounding it, stabilizing it, making sure it doesn’t spiral further than it already has. It’s not grand. It’s not visible. But it works.Because where others are overwhelmed by scale, Istrault reduces it.Breaks it down.Makes it survivable. His bond with Lyse Hext reflects that shift. There’s no more need to prove anything, no friction left to define where they stand. What exists now is something quieter, but stronger:They don’t need to question it anymore. They just choose it.Again. And again.By the time the end comes, Istrault isn’t remembered for changing the outcome. He’s remembered—by the people who were there—as the reason they were still standing long enough to see it.“I don’t stop the end.
I make sure it doesn’t take everything with it.”
